The Emergency Medical Technology isnt an official degree program like the Fire Service Technology and Administration of Justice programs are, but there is a large enough student base to warrant one. All FST and AJ students must take a basic first responder class to get their degree, and many enjoy that class so much they take their EMT-B program at Las Positas or other private schools. Even a lot of pre-nursing and pre-med students take the First Responder and EMT program to get their first taste in the medical field. Although Las Positas doesn't offer a paramedic program, it can prepare you for placement in a local school.
